“It is possible to shorten the blade’s length as well as extend it.” Zelos confirms.
“Oooh, nice! That’ll be useful.” Sala says with a grin.
“Pluuuuus couldn’t hurt to look at those schematics, y’know.” you comment next.
He gives a roll of his eyes. “You’re very insistent on that.”
“It’s worth looking into. The smith we know isn’t the average smith.” you respond simply. However, as he and Sala start going over how to properly use Sophis, you check in with Chuu Lee. ‘Heeeeyyyy, just wanna know, how’s Hearts taken the decision to work with Zelos?’
‘He’s… well he’s not exactly HAPPY about it but he’s… at the very least accepting about it. Or has said as much. He’s not going to attack on sight, at the very least.’
‘Well, better than nothing… if you’re sure, let’s try to regroup soon.’ Okay, potentially good news. Let’s hope it stays that way. “Hey, our allies are gonna be here soon, and they’re… trying to make sure Hearts isn’t all ‘attack on sight’ with you. Just so we’re all on the same page.”
With that all said, Zelos shows Sala how to use the sword, with you getting a chance to check into it as well. Sure enough, you can get its extending and retracting whip ability to work, but you also get an idea on how this could be used with certain Magic abilities beyond that. Light, Fire, Wind, Lightning, Shadow, and even Ice seem to react to it, in addition to Zelos describing how it could be used to empower allies or set a powerful curse on foes. At the same time… for all the effort you’re putting into it, you’re only barely keeping pace with Sala. If you were to use it with the Mahou Knight form, you might be able to work with this better, but might wanna save that for later.
You also get the idea to try to look into some of the other places the other Archons resided, but you have to shelve that idea for now, barely have enough stamina to keep a Multi-Form going. It might help to actually go around and talk with some people on the places Chiaotzu and Hearts have liberated, too, you’ve only really seen a few people directly so far and it wasn’t exactly glowing praise, but that’s a very limited selection so far.
