>>5293541>“It doesn’t sit right with me to just leave the monastery like this…but I suppose you’re right. Tactically speaking, the Knights may be more individually skilled, but they don’t have the numbers to hold off the Imperial Army. And while we may be deserting the Empire, we aren’t exactly making an enemy of them.”Corrine nods. “We can decide where to go later. For now, let’s not waste any more time. Every second here counts.”
The two of you leave the corpses behind as you rush your way to the stables. The monastery has erupted into total chaos. Soldiers are running and shouting orders, barging into dorm rooms, while students from all houses are stirring from their night sleep, wandering the grounds. You can make out their confusion as you and Corrine run passed them.
“What’s going on? What’s that loud racket?”
“Where are all the soldiers going? Are we really under attack?”
“Who would attack the monastery?!”
It seems that while the Knights of Seiros may already be aware they have a fight on their hands, the news has yet to reach the vast majority of the population at Garreg Mach. It’s not just the students who are confused though. At this time of year, many pilgrims from across Fodlan make the trip to the monastery. This is in addition to the large contingent of merchants, laborers and clergy that call the monastery home year-round. And all of them are unaware that they’re about to be under siege. As you make It to the Pegasus Stables, you find it abuzz with activity. The Knights of Seiros here are actively getting ready for combat, and they aren’t the only ones. You see a few familiar faces that you recognize as Pegasus Knights from the Blue Lions and Golden Deer, including Ingrid. Concerningly though, you spot no Black Eagles. Your hopes that no one would notice you grab Beathan are dashed when you’re stopped by a stern looking Knight.
