QM: Thank you for playing this quest, the write-ins were really good!
Because it is noblebright, no-one dies permanently this time. The Noble Elf probably skips and prances back to the forest to be reincarnated again...
I am happy to stay in the thread and answer questions, some stuff I might keep hidden for the future, hehe.
The theme of this game is about lies and what is truly worth believing in - which is not the same as the truth.
Something I deliberately did is to conflate the "attributes" in this game. Most of the items and people are symbols for things and other things. I rarely make up any names, what I do is tie many different names and ideas together.
I think some anons worked out a few of the connections, like Langobard / Lombard / Lunfardo (did you see why I chose this specific city?) etc. Marabet, or maravedi, maraboutin is along a similar theme, as is King Coppernose and the Vicomte de Sou.
Another theme of this game is some of the severe economic problems confronting the world today.
If the ending does not feel good to you, that is unfortunately about right... (do not think too hard about what Jerome and Janet are doing argh)
The Forest Of Idols is meant to be a sort of utopia, created for consciousness to escape the world and economic reality that is breaking in.
The imagery is very deliberate - there are no people at the start or end of the game in the spaceship. Similarly there are some contrasts between the stunted dwarf and La Danse du Farfadet, hehe.
If you are wondering why it goes to space and then falls back down again, SPX unfortunately over the last few days may explain it... this was being used to set the tone and mood. Please blame Jerome and Janet or even King Unbidden if you dare to not enjoy the ending, and spare the poorly misunderstood Vicomte de Sou (the best character, I say).
The One-Eyed Wanderer is of course Odin, though probably also Vanemuine (Elder-most) and literally Gandalf.
In this game I feel he would be called Galdra-fodr (Songfather) Othinn (Oath) Bolverkr (Bale-worker, Wild), matching the title of the game. Probably Songfather would do.
