Sawyer sighs, leaves her counter and comes back later with what looks like a big battery with two wires attached. She looks at you, and passes you your favorite energy drink. "You can have this one for free, just look over her for me. Loneliness does terrible things to people."
Etsy is a little flustered at that comment, but tries her best to keep her composure. "Can I use one of your electrical outlet? My phone's out of battery."
"Wouldn't you rather spend time with your date than stare at your phone all day?" She opens the side of her counter. "Fine, but it's only because you keep buying expensive things."
Etsy doesn't react to the teasing, she crouches near the outlet and plugs her phone on it. After a few minutes, she pulls it out. "It's not fully charged but it's enough. I'll show you at my place."
"Oh, you'll 'show him' at 'your pla-"
"Is that the only kind of joke you have." You've noticed she never actually bothered correcting her on if you were dating or not; maybe she was waiting for you to correct her, or maybe she thought it wasn't worth arguing about.
That, or she wants people to think she did manage to get a boyfriend, whatever the case, she doesn't seem to see you *that* way yet.
You make your way back to her apartment in silence. She turns on her phone just long enough to unlock the door, and slowly opens it. She's clearly nervous, as you're probably the very first guest she's ever had.
"S-sit wherever, haha." She lets out a nervous laugh as you take in the sight of the 'room.' Every window is covered up and most of the floor is covered in machine parts, electronics and half-eaten food. "I was going to clean that up soon, you're just catching me at a bad time," she says as she picks up a spoiled pizza and throws it into the barely used trash bag in the corner of the room.
You don't even need to use your ability to know she's lying about that.
You try to do what she told you and 'sit wherever' which proves to be nigh impossible considering the state of the place, eventually she gives in and gestures you to follow her to her bedroom, which has 3 different locks, one with a key, one with a passcode, and one with a keycard.
Her bedroom is a little bit more organized, and her bed has some spots you can actually sit on.
"I made sure no one can listen to us here, I know it's a little bit much, but it's better to be safe than sorry. A-anyway, I'll tell you what I know first. As I said, this place has very...social averse people, and then they suddenly start doing stuff out of the ordinary, and then..." She makes an expanding gesture with her hands. "Poof, there's maybe one mention of them in some niche newspaper that no one reads, and then they're never heard of again. Nothing online, nothing from their family, just- erased."
