>>6309752Risking your life for a treasure box that was in all likelihood completely empty seemed like just the sort of thing the Yasha would find hilarious. You didn’t see the point in making a detour. In a few days you’d be crowned King of Morfis, and you’d have all the riches you wished for. You nod towards Butch and get ready to leap along the stone pathway that will take you to the next floor. The two of you carefully study the pattern in which the lava rises to engulf the path, taking care to understand the timing so you do not suffer any burns. When you finally feel as though you have it memorized, you step forward, intending to go first.
>“Just watch what I do and be ready to follow along right after.”You jump on the first platform, a bit shaky on the landing, but without much incident. Knowing that it would not be long before the fire started to rise on this side, you show no hesitation. You leap over to the second, and then get a running jump on the third, which was a little ways further ahead. Ignoring the path that would take you to the treasure chest, you then jump over to the fourth platform. You can hear the sound of lava exploding behind you, and realize that you must pick up the pace. You jump over towards the fifth, and then the sixth with no issue. But once you are merely one platform away, something catches you off guard.
Your timing was off, and a wall of fire has arisen in front of the last platform where the warp panel to Floor 4 lies. Worst of all, the lava was steadily rising, and it would not be long before it sufficiently engulfed where you were standing. You grit your teeth, knowing that what was going to come next would hurt. In a choice between the wall before you and the lava, the answer seems straightforward enough. You jump through the fire, tucking yourself so that you would roll onto the final platform. In doing so, you narrowly avoid the lava that would have led to a much worse fate.
>Tristain: 36/72 HPCaught on fire, you frantically roll on the ground, inadvertently touching the warp panel which takes you to the fourth floor. Mercifully enough, you’ve been sent somewhere that just so happens to be half submerged in water. The fire instantly goes out with a sizzle before it can do any further damage. Flailing about as you try and get your bearings, you rise out of the water and frantically try to grab onto something for stability. The first thing you find for purchase is a stone wall. As your senses adjust, you realize you are in complete darkness, and that a foul stench permeates the room you were in.
>Floor 4>Turn 4/40Catching your breath, you once more use your Torch spell to light your surroundings, this time fully prepared to be thrust into a battle just like before. Nothing attacks you, but you find that you are standing in a strange room. It was a narrow corridor, each side lined with dark stone walls.
