>Treading water in spite of her fatigue with the help of her gloves, which happened to be a Mystic Code crafted from a kelpie’s hide
>“Kokutou Mizuri. My family isn’t very prominent in terms of our magecraft so I doubt you’ve heard of us.” The girl replied as she sat down across from the two of them.
>“The only times I heard about the Holy Grail War before coming here was a few comments my part-time tutor mentioned periodically: that it was a scam run in Fuyuki that took advantage of desperate mages who were down on their luck for some kind of longshot ritual. She’s one of the greatest mages in the world, so I’m inclined to believe her.” Mizura explained, then added with some reservation, “But this isn’t Fuyuki, so maybe the ‘Great’ version is a little different?”
This is quite curious.
>“Those people…” Mizuri muttered, “Those people… I don’t know the first thing about them. They never tried to contact us. They didn’t issue an ultimatum, which even the pirates did before they tried to attack me and my Servant. It was just… all at once a hail of fire started raining down at me, launched from more than a mile to the west from somewhere inland. My Servant activated a barrier to protect us, but I… wasn’t strong enough to keep it up against the firestorm.” Her unstable emotions spilling out, the girl started raising her voice as she continued, “So, we tried to escape with a Command Seal boosting my Servant, but ‘those people’ must have had a spotter to tell them where to fire, because their attacks followed us as we tried to flee. My Servant, he put everything he had in the way of their rain of death to help me escape! His ships, his men, everything! And those monsters are still out there, no worse for wear, looking for their next slaughter! I just… don’t know what to do. I don’t want to die, I know I can’t fight something like that, but even though I don’t have a Servant, who’s to say they won’t kill me just for a laugh!?”
Let's start an inferno.
Cool interlude, LSAD QM. We got rid of major Servants AND left a solid impression on a young girl. That's an all round win.
Interesting to see Ogawara living his newfound anime protagonist life too. Looks like he is also having a blast.
