The Blackstone Fortress acted as a spearhead that pierced the defenses of the Mitu with the rest of the fleet following. Most knew that the more distance that was created between them and the Blackstone Fortress was the higher likely ness that the Xenos would do something dangerous to their ships. Thus the Mechanicum ran forward at full speed.
As they began to enter the system the nearby moons that orbited their gas giants began throwing dozens of different sorceries at the Mechanicum. Those who were in the rear got the worst as one of their ships were split in half with the opening of a warp rift, followed by two others collapsing into it. These moons were quickly destroyed as yellow light crossed space severing them in two.
They were running the gauntlet TalOS had to admit but overall they were better off doing so. If they had stayed afar and tried to poke the enemy the Mitu would have began using even more advanced attacks to slaughter his people. It was simple for TalOS to decide that the longest ranger artillery that was upon the planets needed to killed so that their sorceries would be proved useless.
As they crossed by one of the planets a series of ships broke off from the fleet, their destination being the first of the five planets. Their objective was to take down the shields that were keeping the Mechanicum from sending an exterminatus down upon the planet. To weaken the shields so much that through raw firepower the shields would fail to allow the final torpedo upon its surface.
That was the mission that TalOS had for his personal forces as they came upon the center of the Mitu Collective. A planet of pure crystal whose presence rivals that of the Blackstone Fortress. With its destruction though TalOS knew that the grind that was this battle would quickly change.
The task was to take out a series of cities that would give them a weak enough region to strike. When the time comes, the Blackstone Fortress will be able to crack the shield in the one moment needed to destroy the planet.
>>Btw this is not a suicide mission. There are teleporters.
>Head down there in Particep Semper
>In person, so that a perfect stab into the cities could be made.
>Stay in space, there is still a battle here to win.
