Cindy was pointedly avoiding your gaze as she struggled with her own awkwardness. But before you could get a chance to tell Cindy that she was being silly, Wanda jumped in to put in her own two cents.
“Don't be silly. Heroes don't ask to be repaid for favors. They do good things for people because it's the right thing to do. Even if they don't deserve it.”
It was such a simple, childlike view tied to an ultimately cheesy moral. But she had said it without a hint of shame.
Cindy let a brief laugh, and for a moment, you thought you saw something like admiration or pride cross her features.
“Right. I guess I'm just being stubborn. I'll take whatever help you can offer, Huntsman.”
You winked at her.
“Count on it.”
“Yeah, us heroes have got to stick together.” Wanda added. “Whether it be providing equipment, or inviting budding vigilantes to team-up events.”
She gave you a hopeful look.
“Let’s see if you earn that suit first. Then we can talk.”
Her shoulders slumped, and as soon as she turned to climb out of the ring, you flipped over her head to land beside Cindy.
“So, what's next on the menu?” you asked.
“Thanks to you, we're ahead of schedule, so I'll have Wanda hit the obstacle course after a quick break. Then I'll shoot paintballs at her until she figures out how to move more effectively.”
She sounded particularly excited about that last part, but you wondered whether Wanda knew exactly what she was signing up for.
“Well, I'm glad someone's enjoying themselves.”
She just shrugged.
“I've gotta get my kicks somewhere. Can't exactly go gliding around the city kicking butt when my dominant butt-kicking foot is wrapped up in this boot.” she said, stomping her foot experimentally.
“Then it'll be a nice vacation for you and the bad guys.” you offered.
“Heh. Not for long.” Cindy said, narrowing her eyes with a devious grin on her face.
What will you say/do?
>”How's BVA holding up after the attack?">”For a second there, you had me worried that Matt was your favorite. I'd like to see him form a team to get your voice back.">”You know, I'm not worried about you paying me back or anything. I just want to see you succeed.”>”Well, it looks like you've got things well in hand here. Give me a call if something comes up.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
