----
Your footman helps you down from your carriage, and you throw your furs up over your shoulders. The woodland is cold, and desolate at this time of year, but the manor house is well hidden deep in the pines, and perfectly suited to your newfound passions. Within a few days you have dismissed all but the most loyal servants, and set about your work in the basement. Increasingly in terrified awe of you, your butler brings you food each night, but you find yourself too enamoured of these strange books to care.
The grimoires tell of terrible powers - of raising the dead and scouring life from the living. They tell of two disciplines, which seem to be known as Arts. The art of the Carnite deals with flesh and bone - the physical animation of bodies, and the sapping of strength from the living. The art of the Pneumon deals with the soul and the spirit. It tells how one may pull on the strings of mortal souls to guide and direct them - it seems a complex skill.
Still, you have a great deal of money and no distractions, so the time soon comes to begin. You gather that you will need several supplies for a ritual circle- tallow candles, cedar ash, unguents and oils, and you send out your agents to acquire them. Then, you will need a fresh corpse - your first challenge.
>Where do you get the corpse?>Demand your servants join you in digging up a fresh corpse, under some false pretense of feudal rights over the local villagers. [Trait: Cunning]>What is a necromancer without dirt beneath his nails? Dig yourself. [Trait: Devoted]>Simply murder one of your servants. Call him downstairs and slay him by your own hand. It will be a learning experience to watch the blood flow. [Trait: Sadist]
