Harnessing the indomitable power of your <span class="mu-b">COMMON SENSE</span>, you thwart the flapping freak’s wicked plan by simply <span class="mu-i">letting go of the rope!</span>
It seems smart in hindsight, not that you have much time to ponder things… Only after releasing your grasp and letting gravity take the wheel do you realize how high up the beast took you in such a short time… and your thunderbeast is still moving!
Frantically flailing your arms like a bird shoved out of the nest, you do what any warm-blooded human would do in this situation: shriek!
Not looking to be cheated out of a meal, the monster lets loose a shriek of its own–the cry raking your ears much worse than its imitation cries for help did! Swooping to rescue you from your fall (and probably eat you afterwards), the beast is swiftly interrupted by a familiar, and <span class="mu-i">very</span> welcome red blur! Tackling the terror onto the rocks, Rezzie wastes no time in trying to rip your assailant apart like wrapping paper on Christmas Day!
“If… <span class="mu-i">ANYONE</span>...” She grunts as the wicked wing-owner flails against her, “Is… gonna… kill him… it’s… gonna.. Be.. <span class="mu-s">ME!</span>”
“Gotcha!”
Landing safely in Volka’s outstretched and <span class="mu-i">very</span> beefy arms, your celebration is short-lived as the menacing mimic sends a baleful cry into the air amidst their maul-off with your fiendish friend!
The thunderbeast continues at its glacial, ambling pace as the howl is echoed from two other directions… and they’re closing in fast! As the moving mountain takes another mighty step, the original imposter takes the opportunity AND the sudden shift in terrain to kick Rezalith off and return to the safety of the skies!
“Oh no you <span class="mu-i">DON’T</span>!” Scampering onto Volka’s broad back, Tzah-Tzie draws her <span class="mu-b">RO-</span> okay, okay, it’s getting old… her <span class="mu-b">WAND</span> like a gunslinger and fires a volley of arcane artillery at the airborne adversary!
The ferocious flyer easily evades, but in doing so it neglects to keep an eye on your own feral fiend! Tackling the beast again, Rezzie initiates a dogfight above the cliff just as a few more tangoes announce their arrival with a pair of shrieks!
The more the merrier, you think as you nearly fall over thanks to the meandering mountain below you! They’ve lost the element of surprise… which means it’s time to introduce them to the Periodic Table… of <span class="mu-s">PAIN!</span>
