The Light Mist, living up to their name and their long professionalism, weave *around* the hustle, the bustle, the command post being raised, the table. One of them briefly pauses to adjust Echo's map, so it's all where it should be, and then they dip back into formation and fair flow to the front. It's like they don't even quite notice the turmoil, they just follow their commander.
As they gather speed, the Steel Legio don't *see them*, but they hear the synchronised footfall - thomp thomp thomp - and break away. One of them grabs the reins of Methodian's horse, in the doing, and the way is clear.
Impact follows. Then the Steel Cathaphracts shout and join the fray.

The Pyrewatchers below studiously live up to the full extent of the orders they've recieved. Unfortunately, they report back, there are no bodies here. They've all mysteriously caught fire.
The 404 and the Esvacian peltasts join them, the roaring pyre and smaller campfire in resonant symphony. The heat should be horrendous. It is almost soothing, instead.
Up ahead, the over-eager 82nd Cathaphractoi have gotten themselves stuck deep inside an enemy formation - multiple enemy formations. The cavalry charge down this funnel never got properly started, five over-eager recruits charged fifty riders first and now the whole business has broken into harassment and strike and counter-strike. But the Cathaphractoi have formed up in a square, and guard each other. The Sparksworn cavalry, lighter, faster, more nimble, have little answer to such patently unfair tactics, and dart around kicking up dust trying to find an opening.
The 404th, warmed by the pyre, raise their voice in song and hammer on their shields as a backdrop.

Of cavalry charges elsewhere, it is harder to speak. The dust is so thick in the ground sense is impossible; arrows fly into the dirt but how do we know if they strike? The Ashtenders grunt and get to the scutwork of body pushing. Horses cry out, clashings, screams, but is that pain or victory?

The Blade-holders report arrival in *some* order!
The 307th Coaldousers report arrival in *some* order!
The 625th Cerco Chemhounds are next, but they let the others pass first!
