Even as the guardian tries to aim a shot on you, several, long seconds pass before the cannon finally fires, the searing heat fully palpable on your back.
The giant takes a step forwards, the ground quaking and rumbling with each hulking stride as the cannon charges once more, lunging forth with a swipe of the spear. However, it miscalculates just how low it needed to be to slash you, the colossal blade sailing just overhead.
Another, fiery blast decimates the ground you were standing on, and, again, the colossus lowers itself for a swipe of the blade.
<span class="mu-i">Blast, swipe, blast and swipe…</span> It doesn’t take long before you notice the pattern. That’s why, the next time the guardian blasts his laser cannon, you’re rushing towards it rather than away.
With the core in your sights, you wait for the behemoth to lunge to charge in as close as you possibly can.
Tensing your muscles and shooting upwards like a bullet, you launch yourself at the guardian’s core with fist outstretched, teeth bared in a feral grin when a sound like breaking glass resounds from the point of impact, bits of crystal flying outwards.
This time around as you fall, you’re more prepared to hit the ground and land in a crouch. Taking an upwards glance, while the core has been broken through, the fractals inside are still moving and pulsing, still slightly aglow.
While you haven’t let your guard down, you half-expected the guardian to become more desperate after breaking through its core, but its efforts to turn you into filet have seemingly halted, the giant standing stock-still.
What a better time for you to end this fight for good…
