A decade went by as the Imperium prepared for the next invasion of the Rangdan.
None of his fellow brothers were discovered during this time. That made this the longest stretch ever since the discovery of Horus that no other Primarch had been discovered. It was not for a lack of trying, but the full effort was not being made now that the Imperium was faced with an existential threat.
Those who were not at the front line were doing their own preparations. Each of them had the reasonable idea that the Emperor will eventually call upon them to head to the front line, or that the Rangdan will attack from another side of the Galaxy in a flanking attempt. For example it was Roboute who was strengthening his core worlds of Ultramar to their greatest yet heights.
It was thanks to Roboute that the burden of Empire was now being relieved from what were frankly overtaxed planets of Mars and Terra. TalOS had seen the Martians built an Iron Ring around their planet which were their newest shipyards. Here ships of immense and great sizes would be built that far exceed most of what the Martians had yet created before.
As for the Federation during this time, TalOS reinforced both Xana and the edges of his Empire. The amount of goods that flowed within and throughout the planets were immense as dozens of new Forge Worlds were now active. The numerous pieces of time TalOS had taken to create planets had become zero now that the Agri-Planets project was complete, meaning TalOS had new things to devote his time to.
One of these things was TalOS’s interest in a race of abhumans known as Ogryn. Large dumb creatures they were lived near the galactic core next to what was identified as another human Empire of those marked as Squats. These creatures were powerfully built but dumb as stone, which made them interesting subjects for a Genetor’s freetime.
As for that Empire of Squats it had been decided to leave them for until after the Rangdan were dealt with. While this is the case reports have come in that these abhumans had an ease of talking to those that met them. That person they met was Rogal Dorn, so TalOS wondered.
As for those who were defending the Lion and the Wolf were carving their own lines of defense but not doing much besides that. This was against Perturabo, who had placed several orders of artillery weapons ever since TalOS informed him that the pockets of the Federation was open.
It was here that TalOS had an understanding of what Perturabo was planning. While he does not mind material support, if it is not won with his sons then it is not a victory he can take pride in.
