>>6340804Following Uther and Kael, you entered the meeting room. Three large tables had been set into this U-shape and you saw most of the Kings and Lords already seated. The Speaker sat where King Varian should have been at the head of the table, he was discussing something with King Terenas next to him.
To their right on one side were King Thoras and King Greymane followed by King Bronzebeard and Lord Admiral Proudmoore. Their aides or Muradin and Tandred were seated behind them against the walls.
Opposite of them and to the left of Terenas sat Archbishop Faol and Lord Uther. Kael took his seat next to them where Sylvanas was already seated. You smiled at Jaina who was seated behind Kael and she nodded to you.
“Ahh Prince Alric, we were somewhat waiting for you.” The Speaker said. “But don't worry, I used the time to inform the others of the Regency Council and our plans.”
“Where should I take a seat?” You asked.
“The table is reserved for those with the votes.” Thoras replied to you and casually leaned back on his chair as he sipped wine. “Take a free seat, we will call you if we need you.”
You gave him a polite smile and a nod, his tone was dismissive. Now where should you take a seat? That sends a signal to others present, with whom you associate or if you should just join them, you might have enough pull for that. But should you use that pull, you can't match their every move with your own and you are sure that the moment you entered this room, these master politicians have their guards up and swords sharpened. When to attack, when to defend or just to not do anything. Was there an Alteraci Footman Drill for diplomacy?
Choose one:
>Join Jaina behind Kael and Sylvanas. You think she would like if you joined her.>Move to sit with Muradin, the dwarf seems like someone worth knowing better.>Take a seat near the door where everyone can see you and you aren't showing any favours to anyone.>Drag a chair to the table. You are a Prince, a future King and Alterac was once part of the Alliance.QM: QM is feeling better so two updates today. How this will go is that Alric has a certain undefined to you amount of let's call it Political Power. Different actions and reply types will consume it, some do nothing or even replenish it. For example in this vote the three first options are neutral, but the last one will consume an undefined amount of Political Power as you push back on Thoras. Going forward you will have to gauge the overall mood and reactions of the others to see how much you can actually push.
