>>5689043A few (okay a lot of words) about the meta game in skirmish mode.
<span class="mu-s">Credits and Inventory</span>
Credits don’t actually exist, in universe there is no universal currency. Mechanically credits are an abstraction of your character’s material wealth. The actual money in your character’s hands will be local cash, metal ingots, supplies and other liquid assets. Keep that in mind when roleplaying.
Each player has their own credit pool and inventory. Credits and items (weapons, equipment, even whole chassis) can be transferred freely between players at no loss. There is no communal resource pool.
Keep the following in mind:
You are not obligated to buy stuff for other people.
Other people are not obligated to buy stuff for you.
When in doubt, hold onto your money.
<span class="mu-s">EXP and Respecs</span>
EXP is cumulative, you don’t go back to 0 EXP every time you level up. (i.e. going from rookie to veteran actually costs 100 EXP, not 150.)
Life is too short to wait for another campaign to try an alternate build so you can completely respec your character every time you level up. Once a character hits Ace rank they will continue to earn EXP and can choose to respec every time they earn an additional 150 EXP. Alternatively you may pay 200x(Character rank) in credits to respec at any time. (Regular=1, Veteran=2 etc…)
Regardless of which method you use you may only respec your character once per campaign turn.
Tank and Mecha operation are two completely different skill sets. If you wish to play as a different unit type to what you started with you must respec your character to be either a tanker or a pilot. (Note: You may keep both mecha and tank chassis in your inventory, you will just be unable to deploy using the type you do not know how to use.)
