“Gimme one sec…” you said, before calling Callisto again. When she answered, you were grateful to learn that the Deep One hadn’t left to investigate the tunnels yet. She was just coming back from another mission that the Morlock leader had sent her on, and was slightly disappointed to realize that she wouldn’t get a chance to relax.
But her interest was piqued upon realizing that the request came directly from you. Callisto gave her your warning, and the nightmarish siren began her journey to the flooded tunnel.
“Sorry. Back now.” you told Julia. “What else can you tell me about the Serpent Society?”
“They started small, as several iterations of a criminal group called ‘The Serpent Squad’, and expanded from there. After a few good investments, some help from the Roxxon Oil Company and a very successful recruitment drive, their leader, Sidewinder, managed to convince a bunch of mercs, crooks and assassins to join his little club.” she explained. “The only catch was—and you might have guessed this on your own—you had to have a snake theme.”
“I’m shocked. Speechless, even!” you said in a flat tone.
“Yeah? Well hold onto your mask, because they’ve got some muscle on their side.” she continued. “Anaconda: Big, muscular dommy mommy with stretchy arms and a penchant for strangling her foes.”
A profile popped up in the corner of your vision, displaying a blonde woman with a strong jaw and powerful features.
“Black Mamba: Seductive snake lady that uses something called the ‘Darkforce’. I don’t understand it too well, but I’d bet she’s dangerous.”
A photo of an attractive young woman with long, dark hair and a green, serpentine circlet showed up under the first image.
“Death Adder. An amphibious killing machine with sharp fangs, deadly claws, and a whip-like tail that he can use as a weapon.”
A cold chill ran down your spine.
“That thing can breathe underwater?”
“Yup. Why?”
“I need you to send word to either Callisto or the Deep One.” you demanded. “She needs to know before it’s too late.”
“Got it. Sending a message to Webb, now. She should be able to relay a mental message to them soon.”
You breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks. Are there any others I should be aware of?”
“Oh, yeah! We’ve only covered the founding members so far.” Julia replied. “There’s Asp: Sensual belly dancer/energy projector/snake charmer. Her venom bolts have been said to paralyze her targets, while prolonged exposure has led to more than a few untimely deaths.”
Right beneath Death Adder’s profile, a photo of a beautiful middle eastern woman with long, jet black hair popped up.
“Bushmaster: Half-man, half-bionic killer snake. He’s got a giant tail and blades that pop out of his arms.”
