“I do wonder what the Father of the Imperial Fists shall be like.” Admitted the Legion Master as they closed ever closer to the bridge.
“He shall be strong and robust.” Declared Vadar with a certainty that was unshakable, “I cannot see him denying you for what you are. Your love for masonry surely came from his genes.”
“That is a hard thought to take Vadar.” Admitted the Legion Master as he took in the words of his fellow Legion master, “All change with their Father, even yourselves.”
“Fear that you will change to a person you cannot be proud of, or the ultimate trial of your work?” Question the Legion Master as he took a hint to a moment he had so long ago.
The Legion Master of the Imperial Fists fell silent as he thought about the question. With the hush falling between the two Vadar heard both their footsteps as well as many others. He glanced from one side to the other to take in the massive halls that they now walked.
It would be ten minutes now before they arrived at the bridge of the Blackstone Fortress.
“That is the truth.” Admitted Matthias as he finished heasuring his words, “Am I doing what my Father wants of the Legion?”
There was a moment of silence the two shared as they continued their way through the halls. It was an obvious one that bled subtle hints within its emptiness. It was also a request of assurance from one who wondered himself.
Vadar finally spoke “It is hard to even know yourself. There are obvious things that he shall change but those are things that you cannot know in advance of meeting him. If you had told me the tenth who belonged to my Father I would have believed you. But… he only asked us to confirm our allegiances and has instead forged themselves to fit us.”
“Then do you think your Father approves of the direction you have taken the Second Legion?” Questioned Matthias as he stopped in his tracks to look straight at Vadar.
>He does, for some reason.
>We need to grow with him.
>Massive changes will be needed.
