Operation Two- “Kobberhus Assault” – Summary
The Twaryians are making a stand at the town of Kobberhus- likely delaying so that their divisional headquarters can retreat. The primary defending enemy formation is the Twaryian 15th Reserve Infantry Battalion, along with a company of supporting assets, and organic anti-tank and mortar assets.
Primary Objectives are as follows-
1-Secure and recover downed Airship and any passengers or crew.
2-Capture Kobberhuss through occupation of Kobberhus Castle.
3- Recapture all settlements along the rail line.
4-Destroy enemy local command capabilities.
Likely units to encounter are T-8 anti-tank conversions, T-8 machine gun type, and CC-4 light armored cars, as well as heavy infantry presence. Grand Council Army Command feels it should be known that Twaryian Reserve units make heavy use of female combat personnel- as to not shock or dismay those who might have found out such by surprise. They are nevertheless not to be underestimated, and are as zealous and fanatical if not more so than their more physically advantaged counterparts.
While this enemy is less well equipped, they will be holding in defensive positions in urban terrain. Battalion mechanized artillery is on standby, and mortar units from the Sodrakron 4th Infantry have been assigned to support the Rendsdottir Battalion attack on Kobberhus.
>Preparatory Barrages will be available in limited capability on the first turn’s opening.
>Mortars have limited range compared to artillery, but have no delay on their support attacks. They may be called upon for high explosive or smoke attacks, or reserved for counterbattery on assets within their range.
Grand Council Army Command has also prioritized delivery of specialist equipment for infantry, as well as fuel and stimulants. This priority will remain in effect until further notice.
>Fuel shortages have been remedied and fresh mounts obtained- Dragoons and Motor Dragoons now have Move 4 instead of 3.
>New Infantry Special Equipment- Assault Armament Primary Weapons and Flamethrower Special Weapons
At least one company strength unit of enemy reinforcements from the 8th and 10th Twaryian Mechanized Vanguard is expected to come from the northeast. Interceptions indicate this may be an anti-tank specialist unit called to support the 15th Reserve Infantry against another factor- the 8th Petrekoran Indemnity Battalion, which is known to have unknown armored equipment along with its infantry capabilities.
Grand Council Army Command is still presently reviewing what official action to take concerning these “Petrekorans.”
All said, the most critical objective is the recapture of the downed airship and whomever was upon it. Should all other operations flounder, this mission will be a success with this singular objective fulfilled, and considered a failure if it is not accomplished.
