>>5816740Zohan, as well as that shitty Balls on Fire ping-pong flick, have this weirdly specific niche of otherwise grounded and realistic settings with inexplicably superhuman abilities and hyper-competant MCs that tickle my brain in weird ways. It's not quite "superhero" genre but something close, where people can just become THAT good at a specific skill or profession. It really is ripe for tabletop or quest adaptation, the assumptions of real world physical laws and limits being different then default reality but an otherwise contemporary setting could be really interesting. Almost like a form of magical Realism. I don't really know if it has a defined genre or if other films are similar since I don't watch a ton of films, but they feel really similar to me. Very Wuxia minus the swords.
I'm sure Souv can relate to having very specific media tastes and abstract concepts that you can't quite name that nobody talks about, or aren't sure if you're approaching a well established genre or subculture that's existed for years that you are suddenly discovering and realizing you're way late to the party.
