>>5250675"You know, I think you'd better leave." you call up to the women, Komand'r glancing down at you. “I doubt that I could stop my wife now, she seems to be rather upset with you.”
“That-! You-!” Komand'r says, voice strained, but Meloka doesn't move. She remains perfectly still, like a rock in a hurricane as her Warding Eyes circle her.
“C'mon, try something. I dare you.” Meloka says threateningly, drifting a little closer to the Tamaranean princess. Your wife's unblinking glare quickly unnerves Komand'r, who averts her gaze after a few seconds. “What, too scared to try me?”
“I'm not in the mood for this.” Komand'r says, turning tail and actually fleeing without another word. She flies off, and as she goes your wife seems almost disappointed she didn't get to take her on again. With a sigh and a snap of her fingers, the score of Warding Eyes all vanish instantly, your wife floating back down to your side.
“Really wanted to kick her ass again, too.” Meloka says, almost poutingly. “Oh well.”
“Karn, what happened?” King Vegeta thinks to you, his worry greater than it was before. “What did Meloka do?”
You tap the side of your head, Meloka nodding as you bring her up to speed verbally while she telepathically links up to you.
“All I did was scare her a bit, I didn't even get one attack in.” your wife tells him. “She was too cowardly to try anything against me.”
“At least it's over for now.” he replies. “Karn, stick to the plan, and I'll be over there in the morning.”
“Yes sir.” you reply telepathically, Meloka mirroring your agreement.
“Rest well, both of you.” he then says, his mind feeling tired. “I have a feeling tomorrow's going to be a long day.”
After saying your farewells to King Vegeta, you and Meloka decide to turn in a bit early for the night. The two of you settle into bed, but despite everything that's happened sleep comes almost immediately. You're out probably less than two minutes after your head hits the pillow, and your sleep is deep and dreamless. Then after what feels only a minute or two to you, you feel your eyes opening.
