>>5320079“Blair!” Mercedes calls. You find her and Annette seated at a far table. The White Mage rushes over to where you’re standing, scooping you into her arms and giving you the greatest hug that she can muster. “I don’t believe it! What are you doing here?”
“Yes, indeed. Aren’t you with the Empire?” Ingrid asks, face darkened.
You explain to the group your defection from the Empire. You tell them how you were accosted in your room by Derrek and the others. How you and Corrine fled the monastery. How you entered into Margrave Charon’s service and, most importantly, how you found and helped rescue Prince Dimitri.
“Prince Dimitri made it back!?” Ingrid exclaims, surprised.
>“Yes, him and Dedue are currently meeting with the Margrave now, to discuss the current situation.”“Blair, you poor thing.” Mercedes says. “I suppose we weren’t the only ones to go through hardship trying to escape the monastery. To think, you’d be fighting against your own homeland.”
“Yes…” Ingrid starts, a slight blush to her face. “I believe that we may have gotten off on the wrong foot. More than once, at that. But, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing Prince Dimitri back to us. We all owe you a great debt.”
>“Think nothing of it. I merely helped the Knights of Charon. They’re a skilled bunch. I’m sure Sir Bertram would have been able to manage on his own.”“Be that as it may, you helped save the future King of a nation foreign to you. This is something that will not be forgotten, this I assure you.” Perhaps it should be forgotten, you briefly think to yourself. If word gets out to the Empire that you’re still alive, and abating the enemy no less, you imagine you’ll have no shortage of daggers in the night to watch out for. Still, you can’t deny that hearing everyone’s words of praise, particularly Ingrid’s, makes you feel warm inside.
>“Where’s Felix? I notice he’s not here with you all.”“He left for Fraldarius almost the second we arrived back in Charon.” Sylvain shrugs his shoulders. “You know that guy, he can’t stay still and wait around. So he went back to his home, to assist his father with preparing for the upcoming war effort.”
“I imagine we’ll all likely be doing the same.” Annette sighs. “I’ll be returning to Dominic soon, to inform my uncle of the coming war, and ask for his aid. Mercedes will be coming along to join me.”
“I’ll be heading back to Gautier, myself.” Sylvain adds. “I haven’t seen dear old dad since before starting at the Academy. Me and him never got the chance to talk about what went down with Miklan.” He sighs. “If anything, maybe the war will provide an adequate distraction from that.”
“I’m not long for Charon either.” Ingrid says. “As soon as I meet with the Prince, I’ll be checking in on my parents, back at Galatea. I’m sure my father has been worried sick. What of you, Blair?”
