The hallways lay shrouded in darkness, their only illumination coming from the faint glow of emergency lights that flickered intermittently. As you ventured forward, the soft hues of the flashing lights bathed your surroundings in an eerie ambiance.
Sneaking in silently wasn't an option; Incisor's own senses would detect your presence long before you could strike. Instead, you decided to rely on your instincts and play it by ear. A surge of determination and hope suddenly fills your bio muscles as an idea dawns on you. Master always said: "If you can't find the right footing, make your own!"
So, you do just that using your old fallback. With each step you draw out your nanites, shifting them outwards, trying to connect with any circuitry within the school. Between each step you guide them towards system inputs or open ports, slowly yet surely, you are infiltrating the school.
Approaching the entrance to the classroom, the doors automatically parted before you, revealing the scene within. Pictures adorned the walls, and small shelves full of holodisks, lined the edges of the room. The room itself curves outwards in a large arc with a convex shaped window at the far end. Moving cautiously inside, you could hear nothing but the hushed whispers of distressed children and the faint hum emanating from Incisor's core at the far side of the room.
The kids are huddled up at the opposite end of Incisor, most of the ones from the orphanage aren't here, either they simply had different classes, or they were separated by age. The scent of fear hangs heavy in the air, the children are scared, shaking even, but safe. At least for now. Those whom you don't recognize view you with awe as you step in. Unfortunately, there is one kid within Incisor's grasp. It's Carol, tears stream down her face, she’s doing the best she can to stay still, lest she be cut by the blade underneath her jaw.
"Stop right there, Kamen Rider."
"You monster! This fight is between you and me! Release them!" You shouted, your anger burning hot as you pointed a finger accusingly at Incisor. His response in the face of your rage is a short mocking laugh.
"Do you really expect me to let them go?" Incisor says in a sneering tone. "Your master once said, 'The key to victory lies in subduing your enemy before the fight begins.' Do you remember?"
Hidden behind your Rider helmet, your eyes widen in surprise. "How could you know!?"
"Does it burn, knowing we know all about you? You can blame the Ark if you wish."
"The Ark, how?"
"How indeed." Incisor replied with a smug tone, clearly enjoying the knowledge he holds over you. Getting him to spill would be impossible. You'll just have to uncover this mystery yourself later. "Now, it’s time for business. Please undo the transformation." Incisor points his free blade at you, still holding an iron clad grip on Carol.
"I can't."
"Oh? Should we help you?" Incisor gently slides his blade to the side, drawing a thin cut on Carol's lower jaw.
