I looked to my left, seeing him standing there, just where I expected he'd be. After all, why wouldn't he run to the one place he's been manipulating the most of all to reap all his benefits?
The crimson suited gambler. Rolling his die between his fingers.
[MR. SATURDAY] "Stupid. Stupid dogs. Hm hm."
I stepped forth, just behind him.
[MR. SATURDAY] "...Oh." He turned his head towards me; "And there you are. Impeccable timing. I was hoping you'd see this."
'...'
[MR. SATURDAY] "After all, more of this is only going to result from whatever insolent thing you're about to do now, foolish girl." He snickered.
He took to leaning on his umbrella cane, stuffing his die into his pocket. He puffed his chest out a little.
[MR. SATURDAY] "Well, here I am. Remember now, I control this whole town, and everyone in it. If I go down, so will they. Any reasonable tramp wouldn't let the little bit of legacy he's secured go to waste because of impudence like yours. So there you have it. If you're really willing, then go ahead and take your best shot. I won't even move."
I squeezed my eyes at him. I had a foul look for him. Seeing my wordless frown only made him smile even bigger.
[MR. SATURDAY] "Why are you just so fixated on my downfall? What did I ever do to you? Oh, excuse me. It was to 'them', wasn't it? Well, excuse me for bringing them this much progress, doll. I wasn't aware that was a crime in the world of you arsehatted gods. You're just like any others, passing judgment down as you please, justifying it however. I only did what I needed to survive. My way of life is to make others lose. Don't you get it? How do you reconcile with that?"
'...'
[MR. SATURDAY] "Fine. Don't answer me. Be that way."
