Even with your burning sticks lighting up the path, it’s ridiculously hard to mind your step and avoid tripping over rocks, ground cracks and all those weird metal planks that were clearly built by dwarves for mysterious reasons. All gnolls have partial night vision, a gift you inherited from your wolf ancestors, but in a place as deep into the earth like this, it’s not helping ONE bit. Everything around you would be covered in absolute darkness if it wasn’t for the handy dwarven torches!
You doubt the tunnels are inhabited by any big animals, but you still have to watch out for spiders, snakes and other venomous vermin. You really hope to hunt a snack on the way to the forest spirit, even if most prey you’ll find here will be unfulfilling and taste like crap. Nothing beats a cooked boar steak, obviously… but two hungry Bloodseekers cannot take luxuries in circumstances like these.
Hey, wait a minute! Speaking of Luna, how are you supposed to find her? With how many turns there are in these tunnels, getting lost is a huge potential risk, especially without a point of reference. "Sooooo... how are we going to find the wolf?" As if reading your mind, Daitza asks if you have a better plan than aimless wandering.
"Good question" you say. "Didn't Bark mention something about..." The two of you remain silent, trying to remember the rabbit-wolf critter's exact words...
"Howling!" both of you exclaim at the same time, recalling what must be done in order to summon Luna. Datz and you agree to howl in unison as loudly as your bodies allow. And so, with a deep breath that fills your lungs with dusty air, you prepare to release it all into the greatest howl ever heard. As for Daitza, she has puffed out her chest so much she looks like she’s about to burst!
As soon as you’re ready, you nod at each other and…
