>>5801125The holographic display shifts to a view displaying the local sectors, with the glowing Humbarine system at the centre. You’ll have to go to some shipyards. That will be dangerous. Tyro presses a button and three nearby systems start blinking.
“Now, from here we happen to be close to the three main shipyards of the Republic. Kuat, Corellia, and Rendili. Those seem to be our options. Right now comms are a mess, and the holonet’s not much better. As far as we can tell, Corellia hasn’t acknowledged either declaration but is still active. We’ve got reports of ships coming in and out, and while there’s some skirmishes in the sector, it’s been largely peaceful. Rendili is announcing on every free band that it will serve anyone “loyal to the Republic”, whatever that means. Kuat is completely silent. Not even a word in or out. That could mean… anything.”
He looks around at you all, seeming suddenly tired. It doesn’t quite fit his youthful face.
“I understand that ultimately this is my decision to make. But… I value your opinions, and the droid’s calculation abilities. I’ll be putting it to a vote. And may the Force be with us, I guess.”
He steps back, allowing you to make your arguments. After some discussion, it becomes clear who favours what. Fabian and Fisher are voting for Corellia. It’s the second biggest shipyards in the Republic after Kuat, and they have a reputation for looking the other way if enough money’s involved. Shade and Thax however decide they’ll go for Kuat. Kuat Drive Yards have access to the best tech the Republic can buy, and if anything’s happened, there’s certain to be opportunities in abundance. As for Tyro himself, he decides he will vote with Yegor for Rendilli. While the meaning of the “loyal to the Republic” thing is unknown, they reason that it’s not just loyalty to one side over another otherwise they would have declared. Perhaps they’re like you, supporting neither side?
It seems like you’re the last one to cast a vote. You’ll be the tiebreaker. What will you vote for?
>Corellia. The treasure you took will be more than enough to pay for repairs, and you’ll have enough left over for other uses.>Kuat. That silence is worrying, but KDY is the most prolific shipwright around. You know you won’t get a better opportunity for repairs, or more, than there.>Rendili. No matter what happens, you’ll remain loyal to the Republic. You might as well head to where others are thinking the same.>Make the case for somewhere else. (Where? MUST be nearby, and I reserve the right to veto. Roll will be required to convince others.
