“You’ve got a lot of questions, don’t ya?” Adok said as they walked out of the throne room, “First and foremost, the King said he wanted as much help as he could get on this. Thats the reason your rival was invited.”
“That's… not what I was wanting to ask. I didn’t actually think about it that much.” Lucian admitted while scratching his head, “He said something about von Carstein, the Necromancer. Will there be Vampires there?”
“Not from what the Necromancer said. Apparently those undead found the halls of Dawi too drab and unappealing.” Mocked Adok while shaking his head, “They seemed more interested in the works of their own people to appreciate true craftsmanship when it hits them in the face.”
“But the place is owned by the von Carsteins?” Lucian asked to seek clarification.
“Its own by the Dawi first and foremost!” Adok said with a sad grin on his lips, “Last I heard it was taken by the Raki. He mentioned something about the Raki striking a deal with these von Carsteins to turn our hold into a launching platform for their coming invasions into the Empire and Bretonnia.”
“That…” Lucian had to think hard to the many maps he had seen yet he could not realize yet what that meant.
“You’re probably thinkin’ that its right next to Reikland, where the Capital of the Empire is. Well you would be right, it would be perfect if someone wanted to try and quickly claim the seat of the Empire for their own.”
“But dealing with Skaven for that? I did not know the Ratmen could even do that.” Lucian admitted while shaking his head.
“The forces of Chaos tend to find common tresspasses to ally eachother on, until they stab each other in the back. No sane man would give their back to the Skaven. I'll let you hear that.” Adok declared as firm as the will of the Gods, “Good thing is once we do this, from Karak Kol we can follow the Underway to Marienburg. So that means all this was worth it.”
“Indeed, but then, where are all the Vampires if not there.” Lucian had to ask Adok.
“I think thats what we are trying to find out. Problem is they’ve kept their minions as in the dark as us, only telling them to wait till the darkness falls over both nations.” Adok told the Knight of Morr with as much annoyance as Lucian felt.
