>Xiphos shoots up, she takes a couple seconds to gather the courage but eventually she speaks up
>"me? well...I am here on a holy mission. The Church of the Firmament knows of the high number of devil worshipers in these lands a-and I was sent here on a holy crusade to train my magic and-"
>she stops
>"-well, that was months ago"
>her words get stuck in her throat and she manages to eek out the rest of the sentence
>"I- I have convinced myself that I've failed my mission and I must train my magic before I could ever show my face there again!"
>Xiphos looks between Our Hero and Khyber, shaking, she realizes how embarrassing it is to tell these people how much of a failure she is but shes pleasantly surprised when Khyber responds with a slurred "hell yeah" and Our Hero encourages her to continue
>"O-Oh? u-uhm yes I can do that!"
>she thinks on what else she can tell them
>"w-well my home country of Peladia is quite beautiful! I remember vividly the assignment my deacon gave me on the balcony of the church, I still remember it every day...yes! oh those pristine waters that I remember swimming in..."
>she begins to overthink and wonders if Our Hero is now imagining her swimming in nothing but a bathing suit, this overthinking then leads to her imagining Our Hero swimming with her in nothing but a bathing suit, the end of this neurotic spiral is capped off when she convinces herself that Our Hero knows what she's imagining and she begins to lose composure
>""c-can you ask Khyber another question please"
>Our Hero is a bit confused but sees no reason to not to, it's for Xiphos after all
>Our Hero asks Khyber what she was doing stumbling drunk in Bloodschreech woods, Khyber shrugs, stating that if she could remember why she'd love to tell him, probably because she smelled the alcohol in his bag
>Our Hero chuckles and looks back at Xiphos, he politely asks if he's allowed one more question, Xiphos says she can answer one more
>Our Hero asks why she wears a mask, and if it's simply a religious thing he's ok with the answer
>Xiphos answers
>"yes! w-well, not entirely. it's a tradition only seen in the Peladian sect of the Church of the Firmament! we believe that face should only be viewed by those you trust and love deeply! as such it is uncommon to see us without our masks! the rest of the body is ok, I suppose but the face should be covered!"
>Khyber asks if the rest of the body is fine then why she wears such baggy clothes, Xiphos stammers again saying she's done answering questions, clearly flustered
>Khyber is getting a rise out of this, but it seems like Our Hero is entirely oblivious why Xiphos seems so shifty around that question, assuming it's just a touchy subject
>with introductions out of the way and the party properly introduced, well fed and in good spirits what should they do now? it's never to early too call it a day and its never too late for adventure, after all
