>>6132335She pulls out her phone, and stares at the screen. "I'm going to die, I'm going to die soon, and I'm wasting it arguing pointless bullshit. Why do you even care? Why did you even bother telling me this? Do you want me to squirm, is that it? Do you want me to cry, and beg and hurt myself just to satisfy your curiosity?"
"I wanted you to know because I care about you, fake or not. It felt cruel to not let you know, at least once."
"Shut up, I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear your half-hearted apologies, it just makes it worse. It's pointless, for you, and for me. I'll just wait to die, and forget all about it, sure, let's do that."
You turn her head around so she's forced to look at you. "It's not. Listen, I think talking to you like this, it helps me understand you better, and I guess I want to reconnect with your future self more now, even if it'll be hard."
She gets her head closer to yours, until your forehead bumps. "I... I hope you can be friends again with that future me, then." She plays with your hair, and sniffs them. Weird, but you suppose you owe her that much after what you told her. "Maybe... it'll all be okay."
The sound of a coin hitting the floor punctuates her last sentence.
You hold her tight as the flash envelops you, but this time, it lingers, and what looks like a small kid with a bored expression waits for you at the end of the light.
"Is that really what you're getting out of this?" They ask. Their voice hurts your head. "You of all people should know what I'm getting at, right?"
You feel like you shouldn't ask, but you do anyway. "Who are you?"
They get closer. You can't move, because they're everywhere around you. "Here's a hint, Divination is answering a question, but did you ever try to figure out who is answering it?"
An eye of unknown colors rise from their forehead. <span class="mu-s">"Just because I accept your solution does not mean I approve of it."</span>

The alarm rings. It keeps ringing. You turn it off.
You forgot her name, but you remember what she was like, it will have to be enough for today.
