>>5952519You next move to the group of Damian, Yara and Rocks. The two mages appear to be in the middle of an argument. Even though they know tonight might very well be the last time they see each other, they still can’t help getting into their usual spats. Rocks sits in the middle of the two, seemingly ensuring that the duo won’t come to blows. The way he laughs at each of their insults serves as an indicator as to who is winning their fight.
“Hah! Just admit you’d have been lost without me, shaman.” Damian boasts confidently. “I didn’t see those ‘spirits’ of yours calling down meteors to batter the Hellwings. They must have gotten lost on the way to Enbarr.”
“Hehehe.” Rocks giggles, taking a drink from his tankard.
“It’s more than likely they were simply repelled by the inflated state of your ego.” Yara retorts, blowing a puff of smoke in his direction. “They’d certainly have that in common with any woman that’s met you.”
“Hahahaha!” Rocks laughs louder, splashing booze everywhere.
“If those women were anything like you, I’d be glad to repel them.” Damian seethes, turning red with embarrassment. “I prefer it when my women DON’T smell like a burning house.” He wrinkles his nose, blowing away Yara’s smoke with a wave of his hand. “Don’t you ever give that stuff a rest?!”
“It helps me to deal with idiots like you.” Yara smirks, blowing the smoke back at him.
>“Must the two of you do this now?” You groan, joining the conversation and putting an end to the arguing.“Sorry, Blair.” Damian huffs, continuing to fan the smoke away with his hands. “But if it’s the last time I’m to see this charlatan, then I’d very much like to tell her just what I think!”
“Agreed.” Yara nods. “I’ve actually grown rather fond of our favorite pampered noble here. If this is to be our last night together, better for me to give him one final verbal lashing. That way he can remember me for the rest of his life.”
“…Wench.”
“Brat.”
“Harlot!”
“Arrogant, brazen-“
>“So, Rocks!” You quickly try to change the subject by focusing on the hulking great knight in front of you. “I don’t believe we’ve had a chance to speak yet. Tell me, what do you intend to do now that the war is over? Were you perhaps thinking of heading north to Sreng as well? Or finding work over at Fodlan’s Locket?”“Nah.” Rocks says bluntly. “I think I’m gonna go back to writing books.”
“Temptress! You-wait, what?” Damian’s insult is lost mid-thought upon having heard Rocks answer.
“You…write books?” An astonished Yara asks Rocks.
“You can read?” Damian follows-up.
“Course I can!” Rocks exclaims. The man is clearly offended. “Can you? Haven’t you ever read ‘A Treatise on Horse and Spear’? Or ‘Great Cavalry Charges of the First Mach War’?”
“Uhh…no.”
