“..We should be there by now.” You frown, cutting the hem of a branch from your path as you continue leading the way north. “The forest isn’t typically like this. I wonder.. could this be the work of the BEAST..?”
“I.. I don’t think a beast can make a forest grow, Avalsidal.” You may not be able to see her face, but you feel her gaze burning holes into the back of your skull. You lose 1 TRUST POINT. “Please don’t tell me we’re lost.”
“Bah. Lost? No. I could just..” You pause. You’d better not tell her you can fly. “If I found a good vantage point, I could make out my home. It’s quite tall. Let’s just.. keep on, for now. I may have made a slight misjudgment, but we’ll be out of it if we press on.”
You feel the brush grow more and more thick, boots falling uneven into moss and leaf, the nun’s breath catching behind you as you cut your way through the path–until, with a sudden, great swing, you loose a branch to an opening and step through.
“Aha..!” You release a sigh of relief. “..Here. This must be the way out–any deeper and we’d be on the coast by now, surely..”
You step through the opening. A clearing in the forest gives way to a field of flowers–beautiful, pale white petals dancing in the breeze, gently lilting up toward the FLOWER MOON. This place..
“Oh, my. Flowers? I didn’t know there was a flower field in BROCELIANDE.. I’ve never even seen flowers like these..” The nun murmurs. “It’s quite the sight..! Is this where you meant to take me?.. Ava? Ava?”
Her voice draws you out of it. “Oh–uh.. Sorry. Thought we were somewhere else for a second..” You shake your head. “No. This.. still isn’t right. And.. something’s coming. I hear it.”
“What? I can't hear anything.” The nun gawps. “And what do you mean 'something'?”
