It is decided that those who wish to leave behind the Protavic way of life shall be allowed to do so, but they must leave behind their wealth with the tribe. If the Toprocravic would take in these emigrants, then they shall have to provide for them. The tools, livestock and other belongings left behind by these defectors shall be given to those who remain loyal to the tribe.
On one hand, there are a significant number of radicals who gladly accept this opportunity to abandon their conquerors in favour of a new life. Though no one alive is old enough to remember the war, many of the Bruslavic and Glachovic families still teach their children to resent the beast-bringers. For them, this is a chance to leave the Protavic behind in a way that doesn't risk punishment.
On the other hand, the majority of the conquered peoples find that life is quite comfortable among the Protavic. This policy provides yet another incentive for them to remain with the beast-bringers and adopt their way of life. As the disaffected leave the tribe behind and those who stay grow increasingly loyal, the rate of assimilation increases dramatically.
A generation passes.
For the first time in over a century, the majority of our tribe consider themselves Protavic. Those who call themselves beast-bringers can be found in every corner of the clan's territory and hold considerable influence. As societal pressures on the conquered families increase, so too shall the rate at which they assimilate.

When the Protavic people butcher their livestock, they strive to make good use of every part of the animal. In recent years, the beast-bringers have taken this practice to new heights by charring animal bones to create soot, which is then mixed with animal fat and water. The final product is an early form of ink. Though this substance shall be used for all sorts of things, our tribe shall value it for one reason more than any other.
It shall be used primarily for <span class="mu-s">painting pictures</span>. Pictographs and ideograms shall be drawn on strips of tree bark, not only for the sake of artistic expression but also for the purpose of teaching children.
It shall be used primarily for <span class="mu-s">marking property</span>. Each family shall be assigned a symbol and their livestock shall be stained with their mark. This should bring an end to ownership disputes.
It shall be used primarily for <span class="mu-s">drawing tattoos</span>. The Vuvovic will be encouraged to bring their gruesome tradition of ritual scarification to an end and replace it with this less detrimental practice.
