No! You wouldn’t let them touch a single hair on Martha’s head. You rush over to place yourself between the memory of your friend and the two assassins, who are charging towards her with their daggers drawn. Martha, to her credit, does not budge from her position. You can sense that she is casting some sort of spell, but as to what it could be you have no idea. While she certainly wasn’t a bad mage, there was no way she’d be able to keep up with the Agarthans. Especially not here.
>Kronya: (30, Hit)
>Crit: (80, Miss)
>Kronya: 27 STR + 6 (Athame) = 33 – 28 DEF = 5 DMG
>Blair: 32/67 HP
Kronya’s dagger slashes across your face, leaving a cut that jets out warm blood. You push her back with your right hand just in time for Monica to leap into the air above her and attack you.
>Monica: (67, Miss)
Monica’s dagger misses your head by a few inches as you dance out of the way of her strike. Both Assassins are now on you, and it’s all you can do just to dodge their attacks. Eventually, your defenses begin to buckle, and little by little you find yourself being cut by the twin nightmares. It isn’t until you sense something massive from above you that your attention is suddenly snapped away from Kronya and Monica. Both Assassins take a step back, also staring up towards the sky, where you’d ripped the ceiling off the chapel with your Fimbulvetr spell.
“What the hell is that?!” Kronya exclaims, eyes wide in shock.
You can hardly believe what your eyes are seeing. A giant meteor has seemingly popped out of thin air to hang above the ruined chapel. You sense a surge of magic from behind you, and it suddenly dawns on you where that thing came from.
>“M-Martha?!” You exclaim with trepidation. “What are you doing?!” You knew and fought besides this girl for a long time, and you damn sure knew she could never manage something like this. Hell, you didn’t think there was a Sorcerer alive in Fodlan who could.
“It’s fine, Blair!” Martha exclaims cheerfully. She’s engulfed in powerful magics that emanate from her, the likes of which you’ve never felt before. Even looking at her is difficult, and you find yourself needing to avert your eyes to avoid going blind. “I’ll take them out AND wake you up at the same time!”
>“A-are you sure that’s a good idea?”
“Positive!” She yells back. “And don’t listen to those two freaks, Blair! You have your whole life ahead of you. Once this is all over, you can do whatever you want!”
“What are you talking about, fool!” You hear Monica yell. Her voice is hard to make out over the roar of the meteor descending slowly upon the chapel. “She ruined her life all so that she could avenge you!”
