>>5408883In case any anons have not watched it, I highly recommend the 1998 film by Shekhar Kapur Elizabeth. It features Galadriel before Amazon did whatever they did to her recently, as well as that actor man who dies in Enemy At The Gates the film with the cool Russian/German sniper duel that Call Of Duty 2 (the old one) was sort of based on.
Whilst Shekhar Kapur's film is not entirely historically accurate the costumes, architecture, music are so incredible, the mise-en-scene is rich and evocative and the lighting is utterly enchanting. The poison dress thing I think might be stolen a bit from Glauce's fate in Medea, I do not think it actually happened.
The look of this Elizabethan costume film influences every courtly scene in every game I ever imagined. I think the director made only one follow up sequel and then faded back into the obscurity of Indian cinema? Not sure what happened, but this 1998 film was an utter visual masterpiece.
