“Where are you? Rich and Flint are looking for you.” you said, trying to conceal the almost overwhelming sense of panic you felt with the genuine concern that the emotion stemmed from. “You should call them after this.” you added.
“If you don’t mind, I will leave that to you. There is a decent chance that our assailants are observing us as we speak.” she concluded. “Me and Peter are back at the house.”
“Is he alright?”
“He’s fine. Just a bit exhausted.” Vic said.
“And what about you?”
“I’ll manage.” she said quickly. “But…thank you for your concern. I know you must have a lot of questions.”
That was the understatement of the year! As soon as you got a chance to meet up with the others, the Parker family was going to have a nice long chat about trust, honesty, and loyalty.
Sure, you weren’t exactly a shining example of an entirely honest person. However, this next family intervention wasn’t going to be about you, for once. It was a small victory, but you would accept it gratefully.
“We’ll get to that later. For now, I just want to make sure that everyone lives through the night.” you declared. “Are you sure you feel safe in that house? I have a few other places that’d probably suit your needs better.”
“Don’t worry. I’m close to Peter. At the first sign of danger, the two of us will flee to that large building you brought us to.”
Did she mean Webb’s mansion? That definitely made a certain kind of sense, but it would make more even sense if she just opted to go there in the first place, instead of waiting for trouble to find her. Was she that confident in her survival instincts?
To her credit, she seemed to have survived the Chameleon’s ambush without sustaining any meaningful damage. That had to be good for something. You would just have to trust her until you were done with things on your end.

Soon after you ended the call with Vic, you informed Rich and Flint of her location and gave an update of the situation to Julia. She and Nico seemed greatly relieved when they heard that everyone was safe. W’s facial expressions were…hard to gauge, but you were certain that you’d seen some of the tension leave her shoulders upon having been informed that there wasn’t any need to fight for a while.
While you waited for Pandora to return, the three of you engaged each other in casual conversation. And by that, you meant that you and Nico talked, while W listened attentively. She was noticeably distracted, most likely worrying for Warren’s safety.
You reassured her that he was most likely fine, and even offered to let her run back to him while you waited. And…she did exactly that. Abel was probably right about her seeing Warren as some sort of twisted father figure.
