Flyers continued to go to and from the cruiser that balanced itself within the skies. The smell of burnt away dirt crossing into the ventilation system of Lorch as he oversaw all that was happening. The war of course continued its course with word that another of the great cities had fallen. The focus of the Duke was upon the last city which could be taken down any day now.
As for the Tech Priests, while previously they operated out of obligation Lorch was now witness to what happened when they really cared about something. The Astartes reached down and picked up a malfunctioning servitor whose metals started to melt from the large amount of Meltas it had fired into dirt. He dragged the corpse to the nearby cart that soon moved the pile of bodies to either be repaired or thrown into the Corpse Starch processor.
Turning from the work that was ever widening the crater Captain Lorch looked towards the building that once was under ground now exposed before their eyes. The outside, which was once a heavily rusted red, had quickly turned to silver as several Servitors were polishing the metal. Their efforts were doubled by the numerous Tech Priests who were checking every unit of the building for something of value.
If he never was inducted into the Mechanicum he would have asked them why they bother. The amount of resources being poured into their excavation was something that no outsider would see as reasonable. But as an insider Captain Lorch was just brushing the surface. The site of five adepts all sitting around a single panel made much more sense when Captain Lorch learned they were using the barcodes of the bunker to understand who owned it.
He continued his way for a little bit longer until arriving at the spot where a shrine was being built, +Magos Dominus Tekar, you have requested my precense.+
Before the Tech Priest was in a more humanoid form. It was very sturdy but it did not have real capabilities outside of storing him. Now though the Tech Priest carried a bounty of Mechanrites, Scanners, and Weapons that caused him to reach Lorch’s height and double his mass.
+I have. The decision has been made that we are to enter the complexe in search of valuable technologies. As the building is active the Astartes will become my bodyguards in addition to my standard retinue.+ The Tech Priest announced as a hungry mechanical eye glanced upon Captain Lorch, +We enter in fifteen minutes.+
+Understood.+ Lorch said as he quickly began to make call outs. There was not a terrible amount of time but they were Astartes. They were always prepared no matter what duty was called of them.
