"We should probably find a nice hotel to stay the night before it gets dark." You say.
Both Bertha and Ruby were relieved at your words. Ayane quietly nods and says she has a few recommendations.
You were interested in inns and hotels for a man with multiple wives.
Thankfully you were able to come before all the hotels were booked, which in turn gave you a better selection.
But what surprised you more was how many of the hotels and inns were going out of business. Interacting with the locals revealed various different, if understandable, reasons. The only one that had stood out was a discussion you had with another catgirl as she was loitering in front one of the buildings.
"Aye, there's discounts for miles. Here included. Business ain't booming despite the holidays bein' next month." Said she.
You really hadn't seen much of the holidays yet, not really caring. There was some sort of harvest festival coming in a few months and a few religious celebrations, from what you've heard in passing.
"Huh?" Mel frowned. "There's tons of people coming in Centria."
"That doesn't seem out of the ordinary." Said Gerty.
"No, I mean," Mel tried to express herself, "There's people getting into hotels and stuff."
"You're not wrong mate." Replied the sullen catgirl. "An' three guys would come in as cust'mer's an' bein' a nuisance in other hotels, along with a load of other garbage bad fer business." She huffed, "But that ain't the werst of it— that bloody Rostchilde's makin' things too cheap to have any profit. Went an' took me Master outta business, aye."
You weren't exactly sure what she was talking about, but from her tone she seemed to be dealing with a lot of things. Although it was hard to take her seriously: a cute anime voice and the fact that you and the rest of your wives towered over her did her no favors. But you had to admit she didn't get intimidated easily. And yet for some reason, when you heard about the three guys you had a strange suspicion of it.
"Right, could you-" You said, but were then interrupted by the catgirl going on a rant about hotel management and what a pain it all was and how it was giving her Master grief. You zoned out most of it, though you caught glimpses of how Lord Rostchilde's "The Bed And Barn Inns" were beginning to be more popular while expanding their reach. She continued to ramble on, before boldly declaring she was gonna tell her Master to "rearrange me guts until he stops moping around", eventually storming off.
It was clear that Rostchilde's places were popular now, if they weren't so much before. But, at least according to what you've heard, his hotels were notorious for their bad service and cheapness. So where that popularity stemmed from was a mystery.
