Once you're back on the ground, you find a safe spot to watch Astamon battle. The tide is turning now that the leader has been partially defeated. The giants are still battling the Commandramon, and there are casualties piling up on each side, but no more reinforcements are showing up. You watch a few Cyclomon on the far end of the street, as they grind to a halt. They observe the carnage, then turn tail and desert, leaving their leader to be finished off. They see which way the wind is blowing.
Astamon lands on the ground, one leg extended behind him. The gun points straight at the skull head, and both of the Deltamon's limbs are focused solely on him now. They attempt to use Triplex Force again, but the attack sputters out. Light drips from the dead primary head, failing to coalesce into the impressive energy ball from before.
The metallic jaw lunges in frustration, trying to get a taste of your partner again. He leaps straight upwards, then lands neatly on the solid chassis right as it pulls its head back. The skull snaps at him, earning the ire of the other head when it gets too close. While the two limbs clash for a brief moment, Astamon lunges for the strange icon on Deltamon's stomach. He plants his knife straight in the middle, causing both heads to screech, then places the gun against the glyph and opens fire.
Deltamon roars one final time as its Digicore is devastated. Its body begins deconstituting, leaving the heads to scramble in desperation as they fall apart at the seams. The valuable data flows into Astamon, and you get closer to gather the remaining dregs for Doc's scan.

Once Deltamon goes down, the remaining Digimon get desperate. Instead of retreating, they're forced to fight to the death against the City Digimon. You watch as giant after giant is brought down. Even after deleting the leader, your partner's work isn't done. He ends up having to fend off a particularly large Greymon and contend with its massive fireballs, as well as its Vaccine-type advantage. His attention also flickers to the sky every so often, making sure no more Airdramon try to snatch you up.
By the time he takes down the Greymon, you're ready to leave. You signal for him to move on, and examine your allies while he makes his way back towards you.
Casualties have been high, but it's not a total wipeout. Considering that Hi-Commandramon's squad was supposed to be the first wave, and accounting for how truly powerful their target was, it's not too bad a loss. Still, they're in a sad state, and they certainly don't look like they can spare time to talk right now. You meet his eye once, and he gives you a nod, then orders a retreat to the previous intersection. You've done your part for him, you don't need to worry anymore.
<span class="mu-s">"We did it."</span> Astamon says proudly.
