>>5348279You've received a report of the NBC squads approached the crash site calmly when suddenly the object shone in a burst of heat and light. Thankfully, it did nothing to the properly kitted squads, who were only temporarily blinded.
The next part of the report was truly baffling - it said that after their vision returned moments later, there was a giant humanoid in a fetal position where the ball of light used to be. The humanoid was reported by the volunteer researcher to be alive, but unconscious at the time.
Apparently, the army realized that the humanoid cannot be transported using their Percevejo APCs - the humanoid was about two or three times larger than normal humans. Very interesting, indeed.
As if on cue, Julia holds The Telephone out for you to use.
"Thank you, Julia. Getting used to my daily rhytym?"
"Well, yes, your excellency." She replies briskly.
You quickly dial Risonha's office.
"Risonha, I believe you've read the news about the latest protests."
"Ah, so your excellency wants to snoop in there?"
"Yes, find out what's really going on. I want the plantation owners and workers thoroughly investigated, and find possible links to our mystery agitator."
"Okie dokes - but heads up, this would stretch our espionage assets thin. We won't be able to send in our spies until we're done handling something."
Oh right - aside from this protest investigation, there's also the joint Soleil investigation and the Zayyine Smuggler deal. Apparently your espionage department's current limit is 3 major projects.
Anyhow, even though they're stretched thin, they've managed to piece together the circumstances behind the protest.
A few years ago, most of the plantations along the Arepa river was bought by shell companies of ex-EiDoc members - short for Eisen Doctrine, one of the losing sides of the Bordec Civil War a couple decades ago. Their political bent was very supremacist - they actually believe that they, being of the Varyag race are the chosen one by Vril, and should rule over the other lesser races. They are also quite economically savvy, often muscling out businesses and creating their own financial networks. Soon after their acquisition, they started putting economic pressure upon the Neges workers - this fact was used by the agitator to rile up the Neges. Worryingly, you don't know what these ex-EiDoc are planning.
