You didn’t like that. You weren’t sure how long Alvin and Marlin would last at the hands of what was likely a sadistic and highly trained master assassin. You needed to stay on the move here and take care of things before they croaked. You stride over the bodies of the two Riahi, your axe replacing the bow that was in your hands. Kicking the doors of the Keep open, you and the others enter inside. As soon as they close behind you, you find yourself standing in pitch blackness.
>“What the hell? How are you supposed to see in here?”“There are normally lights lining the wall and illuminating the way.” Nadia says. “But…”
>“Let me guess, they’re powered by magic?”Nadia remains silent.
“I brought along a torch.” An unfamiliar voice says. It belongs to one of Alvin’s men. “I can step outside quickly and light it. That should help us navigate.”
“A torch?” Nadia asks. “I don’t understand. How will you light it without magic?”
Nadia’s question is left unanswered as the torchbearer steps outside to light the flame from a nearby brazier that he’d seen. While you wait, your eyes begin to adjust to the darkness within the Keep. You don’t sense anyone other than your party, yet you cannot help but feel as though you’re being watched.
“Now here’s another unexpected surprise…” A woman says. The source of her voice sounds further ahead, and also as if it's coming from above you. “You killed Zayn and Zain. Not bad. You must be pretty strong. You also must be complete idiots to have come here.”
>“Who’s there?!”“That should be my line.” The woman says. “Who are you, and why are you here?”
