You have no idea what this idiot is talking about.
Brun speaks so proudly of his own race, and his own people, despite the fact he is incompatible with all others. It's true, you yourself have racist beliefs, why wouldn't you? You are a Mainlander, mutt race as it is, and you don't like living among the Redmanes either. But even Redmanes look more like your own people then the blondes do- does he not understand?
Races cannot live together. They can only subsume or destroy each other. There is no other outcome. The blondes only live as their own distinct culture because of their geographical and political separation from each other. Even the minor financial and societal barriers in your country, separating the unintelligent race from the intelligent, it cannot stop the cultural cross contamination. You've seen Mainlander children singing Redmane songs and wearing Redmane clothes. The blondes know nothing.
But Brun is above all else proud and stubborn- and he is also smart and capable. You know he will succeed in this quest. You're just surprised when he comes to you again, just before they leave.
”Akule. Can we talk?”
”Sure.”
It has been a day since you last argued with him. He seemed apologetic.
”Would you come with us?”
”Wh-what?”
”It could be useful to have a Mainlander with us on your jihad. You'll blend in with the Northlanders must better then we can. If you can help us identify him, we can nab him.”
”Brun... I said this was not your battle before- and perhaps I was wrong- but I know for certain this is not mine. I do not worship your Gods, nor do I follow their commands.”
”You will not be the hand that delivers the punishment, Akule, merely help guide it. What do you say?”
