>>5372729>>5372735Frankly, I think it would be better just to convince our Questoris Nobility (or their steed personalities) to fall in line with the rest of Imperial Nobility and be a Fuedal Society with actual industrial structure. There are hive worlds out there with Kings, Aristocracy and Peasants but they can manufacture Knights components better than them.
I do not believe fully functional STC's would start off a space colony with 1800s tech, I think that level of technology is more likely the result of not having an STC or perhaps non-functional. Think about it, these were built to help human space colonies build themselves anywhere. Not just Earth Like Planets but atmosphereless worlds, worlds with incredibly hostile environments or lacking in easily available resources. The Galaxy isn't just filled to the brim with earth like planets and earth like planets are the rarity.
If they are true traditionalists, then perhaps buried somewhere deep inside their frames are the personality patterns of the pilots who came from the days of the Federation who can definitively say it was NOT like that. They didn't land on a planet and STC's told them how to make iron ploughs or muskets or the cotton jin, they would give them actual, space colonial appropriate technology.
They can still be an aristocracy without having to resort to crippling themselves and being reliant on nearby industrial worlds to manufacture their knight components. As it stands any planet that would be truly fuedal in technology is only ever going to be able to repair Knights, and they would be wholly dependent on the Mechanicum to make them.
Not to mention there are almost assuredly true Mechancium Questoris Houses like House Taranis or House Raven who laugh at the luddism of the Imperialis Questoris because they sure as fuck aren't going to not upgrade themselves with Mechanicum technologies for maximized production.
Basically, we need to use their traditionalism in our favor and remind them what the actual Knights of the Old Federation were like. This whole 19th Century tech gig is just a coping mechanism that kept them from truly falling into barbarity when the Old Night and the Men of Iron wrecked everything.
