>>5905602If Ingrid with Luin couldn’t inflict much damage to the Titanus, you doubted that you’d have much better luck with your magic. Instead, you decide to exploit Wedge’s desire to see you defeated by grabbing his attention away from the others. Flying right by the head of the giant, you launch a fireball that collides with the side of its head. The damage is negligible, with the armor of that monstrosity only looking slightly scorched, but it is enough to grab Wedge’s attention. He turns away from the others to face you directly.
“Quit running, Blair!” The Titanus echoes with Wedge’s voice. “Rex would not cower before me like this! Fight and face your doom head on!”
The TItanus’ blade sails towards you with a slow and predictable slash. Beathan rises further into the sky, and you continue to pelt the machine with fireballs. It begins to hover once more, rising into the air as Beathan does, and continuing to slash at you with its sword. You evade a downward chop, barrel roll out of the way of a thrust attack, and then pivot out of its downward chop. Despite the fact that your allies are unable to harm the Titanus, it seems as though you have no problem evading its attacks. So long as you could maintain this standstill, then you could hold it off until Caleb was in position.
Suddenly though, you notice that the Titanus begins to attack faster, and with far more precision. What was an easy blow to avoid now becomes one that nearly clips your side. You can feel the rush of air with every swing of its blade, and you know that it is getting closer to landing a decisive blow. Was this machine capable of reading your moves and predicting them? That would explain how it had managed to put the much quicker Ingrid on the defensive. You wouldn’t be able to keep this up forever. Eventually, Beathan would begin to grow tired, while the Titanus would show no signs of slowing down. All it would take is one hit of that sword to finish you.
You spare a glance downward. The rebels had moved forward, and you could now make out the ballista slowly progressing ahead. It was close, but not close enough that it would be able to fire upon the Titanus. You just had to hold this thing off a few moments longer.
The Titanus begins to channel energy throughout its body, before charging you recklessly. Its presence is overwhelming, and its speed seems to have increased twofold. Soon there will be nothing you can do to escape its grasp.
>A): Do you best to continue avoiding the Titanus’ attacks. (SPD+DEX/2: 41% Chance to dodge)>B): Attack the Titanus with magic? (Which spell?)>C): You’ve bought all the time you can. It’s time to make an escape.
