>>5502918You inquire after her time at the camp, and Glowie confirms she (and the young) have been well-treated. She recounts that her nursemaids were quite kind to her, though they left the chamber out of necessity after the hatchlings attacked one of them and attempted to devour her.
“Zhe wazzz fine, mozztly,” Glowie reassures you.
“Well, they’re both dead now,” you inform her.
“Zzad,” Glowie acknowledges, without any real emotion to her half-psionic ‘voice’. “They were good zzervantzz.”
Glowie has never been much of a conversationalist, and so the two of you shortly lapse into a comfortable silence. Afforded privacy, you allow her to lean the lighter and nimbler forward segments of her body against you, and to cling to your arm for a time. It is strange now, with her great and undulating bulk trailing behind the two of you, but it brings back happy memories of your early travels. This is made all the more familiar when, in an effort to placate the wyrmlings, she hums one of her vibrating worm-songs. This seems to have a calming effect, and they cluster around the two of you, for a time, wobbling and swaying in that curious way of her race.
