Huddled in the shadows of a looming building, two agents in wet suits and soaked ties eke out some respite from the rain. Inks and Holiday; got here early. Neither of them look too chipper. Shifty gazes, flinching at shadows and the distant rumbles of thunder. Then again, this rain would get to anyone.
Inks waves flashlight twice as you roll up. That's the signal. Time to leave the cushy leather suits and aircon behind for the wet streets. Deep shadows out here. Clouds and the mountain kill most of the light. Wasn't it morning a breath ago? Feels like midnight, as if the little lake the cottages nestle up against drink the sun dry.
