So I've been thinking, between developing hotshot rounds, and maybe attempting to invent cannister shot, perhaps we might attempt to sway that artillery master we hired to set up his own artillery school in Portblanc, with us as a partner/patron.
Another vaguely useful idea I had, was maybe attempting to create 'war wagons' armored up and using a combination of wall guns and swivel guns. Somewhat outlandish maybe, but it might be in character for Alessandro to imagine it should the wagonburg defense work out.
