Your quests are also video game like, get a "level" and complete it. You keep mentioning Hitman, Deus ex and others like that. Those games give you time to figure out how to beat it or do the side content. When a level is over and you explain what is really going on, i think everyone has been surprised. Your writing and world building is good, maybe you should try a longer playthrough, like a thread.
