You damn near jump out of bed, rolling out from your covers and falling to the ground. A solid THUD and a rush of pain tells you that, yes, you're awake now.
"W-well, g-good morning, sir. You okay?" S-4M, yet again. You sigh. Back to your regular life now. You quickly try to put that horrid dream away for the moment.
"Yes. I am fine." You stand up. You quickly notice that there is, in fact, a fax machine sitting right on your desk. You sit down at your desk and examine it. It's a regular enough looking fax machine with a post-it-note stuck onto it. Various phone numbers are marked down, all ending with a single letter. "A", "B", etc.
>You can now directly contact Companies. You can use this to bargain them for supplies or ask for a sponsorship, or changes to one they already gave, give your own sponsorship and catalogs for extra energy, or to simply gather more information.
>Each call costs A-Energy or C-Extract, depending on your current Favor with them or other factors, such as relationships with P-Company itself.
>You may use it at any time as long as you can pay. Companies run 24/7, after all.
"Hm. Neat." You set it to the side for now. "S-4M. Is there any other change I should know about in here?" You're trying to hide how unnerved you were by that weird dream. Hopefully he'll think the jitters are just the caffeine withdrawal.
"First, here, you need this." A cup of regular (note to self: ask for that special stuff next time) coffee comes up. You grab it. "Secondly, I got access to this weird news channel. Pretty finnicky thing, keeps giving me random junk without me asking."
"Think it's something you bought." An article about a sudden flood of R-Company revolvers entering the market flashes across the screen.
"Huh." You sip from your cup of coffee. "Think you could narrow it down in any way or is it just going to be random garbage that keeps pestering us out of the blue?"
S-4M weakly chuckles. "If it wasn't for that schism, no, not really. But I think I have enough processing power to gleam one or two general categories right now."
>S-4M action unlocked: Breaking News! At the start or end of each shift, you may ask S-4M to give you a general summary of the news of a category of your choosing. Random news articles may still filter in through the day regardless.
"Do you have anything you're particularly interested in, sir? We got a few moments before the sponsorships come flooding back in."
A few choices filter onto the screen. You take a moment to ponder on what exactly to pick out of all of them.
>Anomalous (focuses on anomaly sightings and potential invaders)
>Corporate (focuses on company relationships and information)
>Sales! (focuses on catalog changes, upcoming items, and their prices.)
>Unusual Incidents (may help gleam more insight into the anomalies you currently own)
>Write in (Have it be a somewhat broad catagory, there's simply too much news to only find one or two specific articles)
