"This here is where I expect you to be tomorrow morning sharp!" He smiles. "This is town hall, where anything from taxes to legal disputes, documentation, and some small banking is done for now. Given our size, we have to be efficient. Tomorrow, we'll discuss all that and have a look at parcels of land available for ya, and see how we can get you suited and started." A small silence follows. What now?
"Well, how about I finally let you go, walk around town and get to know these people. You never know when you'll need their help." You exchange goodbyes and walk back along the road. Besides the permanent structures, the town is filled with shacks, small houses, and storage units where pioneers store their produce.
Standing at the plaza, you notice a route heading north, surrounded by houses and farms illuminated by torches. About 15 houses and farms stretch to the north. You decide to visit the alehouse. "Dinner isn't ready yet, give me about an hour, and I'll serve it to ya," Avina says as she dices up onions. The alehouse is empty except for Avina and three figures in the back of the kitchen whom you can't quite make out.
"You probably need a place to stay, heh? That I can't give you for free, but I'll try and make it as cheap as possible. How about 1/4 of a silver ducat for a month's stay, food included?" You accept, realizing you don't have much of a choice. "Ah, fantastic! The boys are going to love seeing a nice face around." You walk to your room, catching sight of yourself in the mirror. Your face is tired, your body smells, and small pains radiate throughout.
