You took out your phone, notated the camera and posed in front of the signing table with Ana. In the back, Dazzler made a heart symbol with her hands, where a faint, pink glow filled the space between them. And in another pic, Dazzler had signed a shirt with her signature, as well as a personalized message for Vic.
Your heart soared in that moment, and you were sure that this would net you some serious brownie points with your sister when you got back home. After you got your merchandise signed and bagged, you paid for it all and included a little something extra for the pictures. Dazzler hadn’t intended to charge you for them, but you insisted. She was far more personable than you ever could’ve imagined. You could easily see how she had so many fans.
“She’s very nice in person.” Ana said, sounding surprised. “I never would have guessed.”
“I know, right!? And she’s so approachable too.”
“Send that photo to me later. I’ll have to remember to tell Elsa about this.” she declared, reaffirming her grip on her merchandise.
The two of you walked back to the hotel, feeling satisfied with your haul and the experiences you gained today. And on your way past the Morlocks’ room, you caught a glimpse of the wild pizza party they were throwing. Well—in reality, it was just Iara gulping down whole entire pizza pies as Glass and W cheered her on. There might have been more going on there, but you didn’t stick around long enough to find out.
Anastasia led you to her lavish hotel room, but neither of you were in a rush to ravage the other. Instead, you just sort of…talked.
You laid down on her bed, and just talked well into the night. You weren’t so much physically exhausted as you were mentally and emotionally drained from all the earlier excitement.
And this—this right here…it felt important.
It was no secret that you and Ana found each other physically attractive. Half the time, it felt like the sexual tension was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. But the two of you never truly took the time to build up a rapport—a friendship that transcended sexual desire.
If this relationship was ever going to work, then you would need to get to know the real Anastasia—whoever that might be. And you wanted her to get to know the real you.
So, you talked and talked until your eyelids grew heavier, and the two of you were falling asleep in each other’s arms. Tomorrow, the mission would begin in earnest, and the end result might shake up The Family’s entire dynamic. But until then, you would rest and enjoy this moment for everything it was worth. And in your opinion, it was worth a hell of a lot more than what you paid for that merch.
Your last thought before sleep claimed you was a very recent memory. An eternal moment of energetic music, and the warm feeling of Anastasia’s body against yours. You doubted you would ever forget it.
