I think that the job should continue to be carried out. Possibly even with rerolls (that depends on what others think) and have Kai be the one to whom the punishment happens to. I don't think Dakota will turn us away either. Less trust? Probably. But not blocked outright.
Personally, i propose the idea that Kai overheated massively. And because of it, his neural wetware short-circuiting had to do a near-complete restart. This means he literally shuts down and goes unconscious where he is during the whole fight. During this time, the wetware will actively piggyback off of Alice's connection to Kai and help reboot using her. Which strengthens the synchronicity by a large amount. Like 10 to 15%
That's at least my view on the nat 1 & 100. What i think seems fair at least.
In the meantime, we can indeed play as dolf. Seems like it would be fun.
